Within this system is the clutch, which is made up of several discs that are assembled in order to facilitate gear changes. Although often forgotten and ignored, the clutch has a very important function, as this device transfers power from the engine to the vehicle's transmission. 

It is common that with time and use, the clutches wear out. When a clutch begins to slip it is a sign that it is necessary to take measures in order to fix it. Unlike the manual transmission, automatic transmission clutches must be covered with fluid as a damaged clutch causes fluid contamination. Therefore the transmission clutch pack must be replaced and not only have its fluid changed.
