Within this system is the clutch, which is made up of several discs that are assembled in order to facilitate gear changes. Although often forgotten and ignored, the clutch has a very important function, as this device transfers power from the engine to the vehicle's transmission.

Unlike the manual transmission, automatic transmission clutches must be covered with fluid as a damaged clutch causes fluid contamination.
