Addressing GM 4L60-E and 4L65-E Transmission Issues with Sonnax Boost Valve Kit

GM 4L60-E and 4L65-E transmissions are commonly plagued by poor line rise, leading to potential failures in the 3-4 clutch and 2-4 band, as well as compromised shift quality. This issue often stems from the rapid wear of the boost sleeve, accelerated by the duty cycle of the EPC solenoid. Oil entering the torque signal orifice tends to leak past the boost valve and is then exhausted at the Reverse orifice, contributing to the poor line rise. Additionally, reverse oil may leak both into the sump and back through the torque signal orifice. Compounding the problem, the boost sleeve's outside diameter permits some leakage through the pump body, further reducing pressure rise.

To effectively address these issues, Sonnax offers the boost valve kit 77898E-K. This enhanced ratio assembly is designed to restore hydraulic integrity and prevent leakage in transmissions with early-style pumps. The kit includes drop-in Zip Valve™ parts, which are engineered for quick and easy installation. For more information on usage and additional boost valve options, refer to the accompanying chart.
