FAQ
How do I know if my transmission is a PWM or Non-PWM unit?
The easiest way to identify a PWM unit is to look at the original valve during teardown. A PWM valve features a single spool at the end. A Non-PWM valve (found in early 1993-94 units) has double spools.
Does this kit require the valve body to be reamed?
No! This is a Sonnax Zip Valve™. It is specifically designed as a "drop-in" fix. The included PTFE seal allows it to work effectively even if the bore has some existing wear, saving you the hundreds of dollars usually spent on specialized reaming tools and shop labor.
Is the PTFE seal difficult to install?
The PTFE seal comes included and is designed for a snug fit. It is recommended to use a small amount of Trans-Assemblee Goo or clean ATF to lubricate the seal before sliding the valve into the bore to ensure it doesn't "nick" or tear during assembly.
