FAQ
What is the difference between an Overhaul Kit and a Master Kit?
An Overhaul Kit contains all the gaskets, seals, and O-rings needed to seal the transmission. A Master Kit typically adds friction clutch plates. If your transmission was slipping or the fluid was burnt, you should consider adding a friction module to this overhaul kit.
Is this kit compatible with both 2WD and 4WD models?
es. The internal seals and gaskets for the 6R80 are the same regardless of the drivetrain. The main difference in these builds is the output shaft and extension housing, but the "soft parts" in this kit cover both configurations.
Does this kit address the "downshift clunk" or harsh shifting?
This kit provides the seals necessary to restore hydraulic pressure, which is often the root of shift issues. However, if you have a "clunk" or "flare," you should also inspect the valve body end plugs and the bridge seal (adapter block), as these are common leak points that this kit helps refresh.
