What is the difference between an Overhaul Kit and a Master Kit?
An Overhaul Kit contains all the gaskets, seals, and O-rings needed to seal the transmission. A Master Kit typically adds friction clutch plates. If your transmission was slipping or the fluid was burnt, you should consider adding a friction module to this overhaul kit.
Why does my 4L60E have no 2nd or 4th gear after 100k miles?
This is often caused by a worn 2-4 band or leaking servo seals. This overhaul kit includes the critical lip seals and O-rings for the servo and internal drums, which are the first line of defense in restoring hydraulic apply pressure to those gears.
Can I use this kit for a performance build?
Yes. The seals and gaskets in this kit meet or exceed OEM specifications. For high-horsepower applications (like a built LS engine), we recommend pairing this kit with high-energy friction plates (like Raybestos Z-Pak)
