This 6F35-A SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit is designed for 2009 to mid-2013 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda vehicles equipped with the GEN1 6F35 automatic transmission. Common issues addressed by this kit include 2-3 cut loose, no reverse, TCC slip, and various gear ratio and solenoid performance codes. Please note, this kit is not compatible with GEN2 units.
Common Issues Addressed:
The shifting problems often stem from wear in the solenoid pressure regulator valve bore. This valve is crucial for controlling the pressure sent to the solenoids. The solenoid regulator valve spring is calibrated to ensure the solenoid feed pressure does not exceed a specified PSI, regardless of the main line pressure. This regulation is essential to prevent excess fluid from being fed to the solenoids, which could otherwise lead to improper solenoid performance and trigger error codes, along with low or high main line pressure issues.
Additional problems such as TCC slip, no reverse, and 2-3 cut loose can also arise. To address these, the kit includes a new TCC regulator valve fitted with a scarf cut sealing ring, restoring valve function without the need for reaming the bore. Furthermore, the D2 checkball often blows through the separator plate, damaging the plate and leading to the no reverse and 2-3 cut loose conditions.
